What It Means to Be an FPMA Member
Being part of the Florida Pest Management Association means more than running a successful business.
It means contributing to something bigger—supporting the people, programs, and future of pest management across Florida.
FPMA members don’t just work in the industry.
They help strengthen it.
What You’re Really Joining
When you become an FPMA member, you’re stepping into a community that:
- Supports the next generation of pest management professionals
- Invests in education and professional growth
- Strengthens connections across the industry
- Shows up for each other when it matters
This isn’t passive membership.
It’s active participation in something that moves the industry forward.
Florida Pest Management Foundation
Behind every strong industry is a commitment to take care of its own—and to invest in what comes next.
The Florida Pest Management Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the pest management profession through education, charitable efforts, and industry advancement.
Through the Foundation, FPMA members help make a real impact by supporting:
- Scholarships for students studying entomology, ecology, and related sciences
- Education and professional development for pest management professionals
- Funding for research, education, and charitable initiatives that address industry challenges
- Disaster relief support for pest management professionals in times of need
- Public education efforts that highlight the role of pest management in protecting health, property, and food supply
This is how the FPMA community shows up—not just for the industry, but for each other.
Supporting the Foundation is more than a contribution.
It’s an investment in the future of your business, your profession, and the people who make it all work.
Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM)
A strong industry is built by people who are supported, connected, and encouraged to lead.
PWIPM Florida brings professionals together to attract, develop, and support women in Florida’s pest management industry through:
- Educational programs and professional resources
- Peer networking and leadership development opportunities
- A supportive community that encourages growth at every stage
PWIPM events are open to both women and men—creating opportunities for collaboration, shared expertise, and stronger relationships across the industry.
PWIPM Florida also gives back by supporting charitable organizations that provide assistance to communities across the state.
This is what it looks like when an industry invests in its people.
FPMA Urban Entomology Professorship
Strong industries don’t just react—they invest ahead.
The FPMA Urban Entomology Professorship at the University of Florida was created through an industry-driven effort to strengthen education, Extension, and teaching in urban and structural pest management.
FPMA and its members helped establish an endowed professorship within UF/IFAS Entomology & Nematology—focused on advancing knowledge and understanding of urban pest issues that impact both Florida residents and the pest management profession.
Today, this endowment supports a faculty leader dedicated to:
- Research on real-world urban pest challenges
- Extension programs that connect science to field application
- Teaching and training the next generation of professionals
This is a long-term investment in the knowledge, science, and education that support the work pest management professionals do every day.
This is part of what it means to be part of FPMA.
Why It Matters
Pest management protects Florida’s health, homes, businesses, and environment.
FPMA members don’t just do that work in the field—they support the systems that keep the entire industry strong, prepared, and moving forward.
That’s something worth being part of.
