Mission
The mission of the FPMA for Veterans Program is to honor and support the men and women who have served our nation by fostering a strong community of veterans within Florida's pest management industry. We are committed to promoting continuing education and professional development, assisting service members in their transition from military service to rewarding careers in pest control, providing support to veteran members during times of need, and encouraging camaraderie, mentorship, and meaningful social interaction among veterans throughout the industry. Through service, education, and fellowship, we strive to strengthen both our veteran community and the pest management profession.
Supporting Veterans in Florida's Pest Management Industry
FPMA4VETS brings together veterans in Florida's pest management industry through education, career development, assistance, camaraderie, and service.
Our goal is to support veterans already working in pest control, help active-duty service members explore career opportunities in the industry, and build a strong community where veterans can connect with and support one another.
Helping Veterans Advance Their Careers
One of the goals of FPMA4VETS is to provide scholarships for veterans who are active in the pest control industry and want to become certified pest control operators.
Funds raised through FPMA4VETS will help veterans attend Pest Management University (PMU), with scholarships supporting tuition, room and board while they attend PMU classes and work toward licensure.
For veterans ready to take the next step in their pest management careers, that support can help make additional education and professional advancement possible.
Supporting Veterans in Times of Need
FPMA4VETS is also committed to helping veterans working in pest control when an unexpected crisis hits.
Funds raised through the program will be used to provide emergency assistance to veterans in need due to circumstances such as fire, severe weather, or health-related issues.
It is a simple idea: when a veteran in our industry needs help, we want our community to be there.
Connecting Veterans With Pest Control Careers
Military service develops skills and attributes that translate well to the pest control industry. FPMA4VETS wants to help active-duty service members learn more about pest management as a potential career and connect more veterans with opportunities in the industry.
For pest control companies looking for good people, veterans can also represent a strong pool of potential employees with experience, skills, and qualities developed through military service.
Building Community Through Fellowship and Service
FPMA4VETS is about more than financial assistance and career development. It is also about bringing veterans together.
The committee plans to create opportunities for veterans in the pest management industry to connect through social activities at FPMA events, including EXPO and Summer Conference. Through camaraderie, fellowship, and service, FPMA4VETS can bring veterans together while adding value to the broader FPMA community.
Help Support FPMA4VETS
FPMA4VETS will raise funds through the sale of T-shirts, hats, and stickers, along with additional fundraising opportunities such as raffles.
The 2027 FPMA Golf Classic will benefit FPMA4VETS, helping support the program's work on behalf of veterans in Florida's pest management industry.
Every dollar raised will help FPMA4VETS work toward its mission of supporting veterans through education, assistance, career opportunities, fellowship, and service.
